This is not a Catholic church even though it call itself such. "Liturgical Abuse Gone Wild" doesn't even begin to sum up the cauldron of heresy practiced here. Not to mention, the whole thing is run by a woman wearing an alb who says the homily (heresy). The music is entirely inappropriate and is better suited for a kumbaya fire dance with a dash of LSD. This once beautiful church dedicated to St. Vincent de Paul has been defaced artistically, is a disgrace to orthodox Catholicism and a representation of everything wrong with the modern Church today that pulls people away from God and into a pit of confusion, wishy-washy morals and the rejection of Church teachings. There is no Holy Mass here. Only the twisted invention of liturgical 'innovation.' This is a pure example of the reign of destruction wrought by Bishop Hubbard on the Albany Diocese as it is literally crumbling to dust. Sure, lets topple the beautiful St. Patrick's in Watervliet, but let's let the heresy and liturgical abuse run rampant! There is no wonder why people have been leaving the Church in swarms, especially here. How could anyone take this seriously? A sad, sad shame.

The mass I went to here was a crackpot of heresy and pure insanity. This is a cult not a church

  • This church is an inclusive and warm community that welcomes worshippers and challenges us all to live the gospel. The joy and respect is evident and so very different from the formulaic, rote liturgical celebrations of other parishes that stand against so much but for nothing at all except enforcing arcane rules. St. Vincent's is a living, breathing replica of apostolic life, recognizing as it does all the gifts and limitations of people trying to further the gospel. Prejudice and preconceptions have little place here.

  • It is the true meaning of church. God is present in the unity you see in this church and it's congregation. The inclusivity is heart warming. There is no judgement, no place of honor it is all about Our Lord and His desire for us all to be one community. When Mass is celebrated it is in fact a celebration with singing and smiles and joy. From beginning to end you feel a part of everything even though from another church Catholic or not. It's beautiful and I have seldom felt closer to what Christ intended when He spoke of His people. The traditional church isn't here that is true but then most of what people get wrapped around are human ceremonies created by humans for humans and much like the Pharisees of Christ's time some people have become focused on the how it's done instead of the why. Jesus spoke Aramaic and in that language there is no phrase, "This is my body" so He could not have said those exact words. If you are looking for a church that practices the love of God then come to St. Vincent's.

  • This is a great church. I read a one star review and felt sorry, church is a place for you to work on your own spirituality with God. If you're judging a place because of music, design etc. then you're not there to work on yourself and truly hear the word of God. Just because you go to church, that does not make you a "good" person.

So if you take fulfillment in your spirituality seriously, this chirch is great! The experience is what you make it. God is love.
